Bankside BikeShed

International competition, invited by the Architectural Foundation on behalf of Better Bankside, with the brief to design a modular, portable and secure cycle parking solution. Our competition entry ‘Hungry Pigs’ was a system mainly based on a protective shell that was to be lowered over individual bicycles. The shells, shaped by silhouettes of various bicycles, were intended to be arranged in various ways to respond to local site requirements. A ‘pay as you go’ or membership system similar to the Barclay bike hiring scheme was envisaged to allow secure and easy access via key cards. Location: London
Year: 2011
Status: Exhibited at Bankside Centre London as part of shortlist of 15 selected entries.
