International competition, invited by the Architectural Foundation on behalf of Better Bankside, with the brief to design a modular, portable and secure cycle parking solution. Our competition entry ‘Hungry Pigs’ was a system mainly based on a protective shell that was to be lowered over individual bicycles. | The shells, shaped by silhouettes of various bicycles, were intended to be arranged in various ways to respond to local site requirements. A ‘pay as you go’ or membership system similar to the Barclay bike hiring scheme was envisaged to allow secure and easy access via key cards. | Location: London Year: 2011 Status: Exhibited at Bankside Centre London as part of shortlist of 15 selected entries. |
